DigiMoCA Project
The collaborative project between AtlanTTic of the University of Vigo and AFAGA Alzheimer’s aims to analyse the validity of the digitisation, through smart speakers, of a classic test as a mechanism for early detection of cognitive impairment.
In this project, the aim is to assess whether it is possible to adapt and carry out a test for early detection of cognitive impairment using smart speakers as a means of interaction with users. This would allow greater accessibility and convenience in administering the test, as voice commands would be used to answer the questions.
The collaboration between AtlanTTic and AFAGA Alzheimer’s ensures the combination of IT expertise and experience in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive impairment.
The ultimate goal is to determine whether the digitisation of this classic test via smart speakers can be an effective and valid tool for the early detection of cognitive impairment. This could have a significant impact on the early diagnosis and care of people affected by neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
