New technologies workshops

The workshop is part of the Cognitive Stimulation Program using New Technologies, an innovative experience aimed at people with mild and moderate cognitive impairment.

The main objective of this program is to work on the cognitive, functional and social abilities of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other neurodegenerative dementias.

The workshop was launched in March 2012 and has 3 different groups working one day a week for two hours each.

Before starting the first session, people are evaluated to assess different aspects such as cognitive, language or motivation, developing personalized classes tailored to each user.

The most innovative aspect of this program is that a conventional cognitive stimulation workshop (with press commentaries, karaokes, memory exercises, etc.) will be carried out using new technologies as a medium, through the Gradior and SmartBrain programs, adapting them to the characteristics and needs of the participants.

Each person has a computer with a touch screen, as well as a keyboard, mouse and headphones. In addition, in a second part of the program, the functional development of the participants is worked on through X-Box and Wii.
