Cognitive stimulation workshops

After the diagnosis of a neurodegenerative dementia, the person begins a path to stimulate their abilities, which means maintaining their autonomy for longer.

To this end, AFAGA is developing the Cognitive – Functional Stimulation Workshops Programme with the aim of maintaining the skills, knowledge and behaviours that they still possess, using techniques aimed at training in activities of daily living (ADL), orientation to reality, cognitive stimulation and functional stimulation. All this is carried out through activities adapted to both the general abilities of the group and the individual.

Currently, there are 23 groups, composed of between 10 and 15 people. Participants attend 2 days a week, for 2 hours and 45 minutes a day.

The groups are differentiated according to the level of impairment.

We have cognitive-functional stimulation workshops in:

  • Vigo (12 groups)
  • Redondela (2 groups)
  • Mos (2 groups)
  • Ponteareas (1 group)
  • Salceda (1 group)
  • Tui (2 groups)
  • Nigr谩n (2 groups)
  • Baiona (1 group)
