The General Director of the Elderly and People with Disabilities of the Xunta de Galicia and the Mayor visited the Centro Afaga Alzheimer Salceda de Caselas

The General Director of the Elderly and People with Disabilities of the Xunta de Galicia, Fernando González Abeijón, visited yesterday the vicinity of the Afaga Alzheimer Therapeutic Center Salceda de Caselas. Also present were Mayor Loli Castiñeira Alen, Deputy Mayor Verónica Tourón Domínguez and Afaga Alzheimer’s President Juan Carlos Rodríguez Bernárdez.
They toured the place and they witnessed at the implementation of the dementia prevention program CultivaMente, which is a workshop that encompasses the prevention of dementia and the promotion of healthy habits on a cognitive and emotional level. It is designed as a metacognition workshop, in which cognitive stimulation exercises are performed where the profile of users are people over 55 years of age without cognitive impairment.
After a tour of the new facilities, funded by the City Council and the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, located in the old school Vendanova, highlighted on social media the director general for the elderly and people with disabilities of the Xunta de Galicia, Fernando González Abeijón. “Afaga’s involvement in caring for people with Alzheimer’s and their families, with specialized and local care.”
