The evening is oppressive in the city during winter. There are no clouds on the Parisian blue sky.   The white smoke of the chimneys that warm the houses has little by little spread in the sky. The atmosphere is being scratched, sometimes with thick lines, others with thin lines. It smells of  pine tree burning in the houses of those people that choose fire over electricity to warm up…

This is the beginning of the short story “Admirarte” (“Contemplating you”) written by Unai Gracia under the pseudonym León Gale. This story was a finalist of the Style Award in the II Short Story about Alzheimer’s  Contest “In a Corner of Memory”.
